There\u2019s definitely nothing wrong with disconnecting and letting loose on the holidays. However, we don\u2019t want to completely throw our healthy habits out the window. Firstly, because it\u2019ll be much harder to get back into it after the holidays, and, because in the end of the day, we do feel so much better when we\u2019re taking care of ourselves. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">So, we suggest you take your well deserved holidays, but, follow some easy guidelines to keep healthy and fit, whilst also having fun!<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Get your body moving!<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14235 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/iStock_66816939_SMALL.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"848\" height=\"565\" \/><\/p>\n<p>You don\u2019t have to go to the gym to do exercise. Here are a few ideas of what you can do to stay active:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you have access to a pool or the sea, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">why not go for a daily 30 minute swim?<\/span> You can even combine some <a href=\"https:\/\/shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/en\/the-perfect-summer-sport-aqua-fitness\/\"><u>aqua aerobics<\/u> <\/a>to make the most of your time in the water.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Take long walks by the beach<\/span>. Walking on sand is <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">great for the circulatory and lymphatic system and tones your muscles.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Hike! A great way to see the area you\u2019re vacationing in is to go on hikes.<\/span> You get your body moving, you\u2019re in contact with nature and you get to see beautiful places. Bring a family member or friend along on the adventure.<\/li>\n<li>Have you tried <a href=\"https:\/\/shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/en\/8-sports-to-practice-at-the-beach\/\">paddle surf<\/a> or kayak? If you\u2019re close to water, whether it\u2019s near the sea or a lake, doing water sports is a must. They\u2019re fun to do in groups, and you they\u2019re a great physical activity.<\/li>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Bring a jump rope!<\/span> For those days where it doesn\u2019t look like you\u2019re going to be doing any outdoors activities, get a quick 30 minute workout in at the start of the day to get it out of the way. Why not start off doing cardio with a <a href=\"https:\/\/shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/en\/jumping-rope-to-tone-the-body-up\/\">jump rope<\/a> and continue with <a href=\"https:\/\/shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/en\/plyometrics-exercises\/\">plyometric exercises <\/a>to work and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">tone the entire body.<\/span> They\u2019re easy to do anywhere!<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Start your day right<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-14236 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/iStock_34340000_SMALL.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"848\" height=\"565\" \/><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Breakfast is the perfect time to be as healthy as possible<\/span> because the rest of the meals of the day are probably a more social event where you might have to adapt to what\u2019s on the menu.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Start your day with warm lemon water to alkalinize and detox your body,<\/span> and then <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">make a smoothie full of vitamins and antioxidants.<\/span> If you\u2019re still feeling hungry after a smoothie, try making an avocado toast with a squeeze of lemon, olive oil, sea salt, pepper and some seeds on top. Great for your skin and hair and will give you energy!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><strong>Drink enough water<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Make sure you hydrate enough throughout the day.<\/span> Why not add fruits and herbs to your water? Not only will it be tastier and more refreshing, but, also full of <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">vitamins and antioxidants.<\/span><\/p>\n<h4><\/h4>\n<h4><strong>Make healthier choices<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>There are always healthy options in restaurants to choose from. <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Whether it\u2019s fresh grilled fish with vegetables or a salad, try eating local, fresh foods.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Vacations are a time to enjoy yourself. This doesn\u2019t mean that including physical activity every day should be daunting. Quite the opposite!
