{"id":14369,"date":"2016-08-25T11:29:12","date_gmt":"2016-08-25T09:29:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/shamagazine\/?p=14369"},"modified":"2023-10-11T15:52:20","modified_gmt":"2023-10-11T13:52:20","slug":"pressed-salad-with-crumbled-tofu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/en\/pressed-salad-with-crumbled-tofu\/","title":{"rendered":"Pressed Salad with Crumbled Tofu"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Salads are the most refreshing meal to have in summer and what our bodies crave the most.<\/span> <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">It\u2019s important to eat according to the seasons and listen to our bodies.<\/span> That\u2019s why, in summer, when temperatures are higher, our body will naturally crave lighter, cooling foods.<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"> This Pressed Salad with Crumbled Tofu is the perfect salad to have as a nourishing meal in summer.<\/span> The combination of the cooling and refreshing foods like cabbage, celery, radishes, cucumber and parsley and the plant-based protein from the tofu, make this meal the perfect balance of vegetables and protein, leaving you feeling satisfied and full of energy.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Try making this salad either as a main course, or as a side dish.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Pressed Salad with Crumbled Tofu<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Ingredients<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>1 tbsp finely-chopped parsley<\/li>\n<li>1 cup Chinese cabbage, finely sliced<\/li>\n<li>1 cucumber, peeled and sliced<\/li>\n<li>1 celery stalk, finely sliced<\/li>\n<li>3 radishes, finely sliced<\/li>\n<li>1\/4 block tofu crumbled<\/li>\n<li>1 tbsp umeboshi vinegar<\/li>\n<li>4 tbsp brown rice vinegar<\/li>\n<li>2 cups spring water<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Preparation<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Place the Chinese cabbage, celery, cucumbers and radishes in a bowl. Add the salt and mix through. Press with a weight for about 15 minutes.<\/li>\n<li>Mix the tofu and umeboshi together. Allow to stand for about 15 minutes.
