Why? Because <strong>our bodies need to change throughout the seasons<\/strong>, so, <strong>eating a salad in winter would be the equivalent of wearing a bikin<\/strong>i when the temperatures are cold. Unless you\u2019re living in a tropical country, the idea of wearing swimwear in winter sounds crazy. So should eating salads and tropical fruits!<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<h4><em>&#8220;Eating a salad in winter would be the equivalent of wearing a bikini when the temperatures are cold.&#8221;<\/em><\/h4>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>So what should one be eating at this time of year? As the temperatures drop, we need to <strong>nourish and warm the body from the inside<\/strong>, to <strong>balance the yin and the yang<\/strong>. If we\u2019re eating \u2018cold\u2019 foods, also known as <strong>yin foods<\/strong>, such as fruits, raw vegetables, salads and cold drinks, we\u2019re overpowering the yin, l<strong>eaving us feeling cold from the inside out<\/strong> and more <strong>prone to falling ill.<\/strong> Therefore<strong>, the colder months<\/strong> are all about <strong>eating the grounding and nourishing yang foods<\/strong> that are going to <strong>balance our hormones, strengthen our immune system, boost our energy and feel well all rounded.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><\/h3>\n<h3>What foods should we be eating in autumn\/winter?<\/h3>\n<p>Most importantly, in <strong>Traditional Chinese Medicine<\/strong><strong>,<\/strong> it\u2019s about <strong>eating seasonally and locally.<\/strong> That is the rule of thumb.
