Mar\u00eda Blasco Marhuenda, la Dra. Gloria Sabater y el Dr. Vicente Mera hablaron de las \u00faltimas investigaciones en el campo de los<strong> tel\u00f3meros <\/strong>y la<strong> telomerasa<\/strong> y de su aplicaci\u00f3n en temas como el <strong>antiaging <\/strong>o<strong> antienvejecimiento<\/strong> y la <strong>prevenci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><!--more--><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1047 aligncenter\" title=\"Telomeros y telomerasa para la prevenci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer\" src=\"https:\/\/shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/wp-content\/uploads\/MG_8472.jpg\" alt=\"investigaci\u00f3n antic\u00e1ncer con el estudo de los tel\u00f3meros y la telomerasa\" width=\"632\" height=\"423\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es un tel\u00f3mero?<\/strong> Los tel\u00f3meros son los extremos de los cromosomas, regiones de ADN codificante cuya longitud determina la edad biol\u00f3gica de nuestras c\u00e9lulas. Las \u00faltimas teor\u00edas cient\u00edficas sobre el antiaging o antienvejecimiento determinan que nuestros tel\u00f3meros son como nuestro reloj de arena que nos marca cu\u00e1nto tiempo pueden vivir nuestras c\u00e9lulas. Adem\u00e1s, nuestra edad biol\u00f3gica puede medirse gracias a la prueba de los tel\u00f3meros que mide nuestra longitud telom\u00e9rica.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>\u00bfQu\u00e9 es la telomerasa?<\/strong> La telomerasa es la enzima que se encarga de proteger y alargar los tel\u00f3meros. Sin embargo, muchas c\u00e9lulas cancer\u00edgenas reactivan la actividad de la telomerasa y favorecen la aparici\u00f3n de c\u00e1ncer, por lo que las \u00faltimas investigaciones se encaminan a impedir esta proliferaci\u00f3n de c\u00e9lulas malignas, contribuyendo a la prevenci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer al tiempo que favorecen el antienvejecimiento. Ahora la cuesti\u00f3n principal es: \u00bfSi activamos la telomerasa de forma controlada podremos ralentizar el envejecimiento sin provocar m\u00e1s c\u00e1ncer?<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Los estudios de<strong> investigaci\u00f3n antic\u00e1ncer<\/strong> sobre los tel\u00f3meros y la telomerasa son tan importantes que lograron el premio Nobel de Medicina en 2009 de la mano de los cient\u00edficos Elizabeth Blackburn, Carol Greider y Jack Szostak.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La Dra. Mar\u00eda Blasco, directora del <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnio.es\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Centro Nacional de Investigaci\u00f3n Oncol\u00f3gica<\/a>, es la cient\u00edfica m\u00e1s destacada en Espa\u00f1a en el estudio de los tel\u00f3meros y la telomerasa y en su charla explic\u00f3 la investigaci\u00f3n antic\u00e1ncer que llevan a cabo con ratones para luchar contra el c\u00e1ncer y <strong>ralentizar el proceso de envejecimiento<\/strong>. Adem\u00e1s, la Dra. Blasco certific\u00f3 que ya existen suplementos alimenticios como el <strong>TA-65<\/strong> que activan la telomerasa y contribuyen al antiaging  o antienvejecimiento sin provocar c\u00e1ncer.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">La Dra. Gloria Sabater, experta en gen\u00e9tica orientada al antiaging, remarc\u00f3 la importancia de estudiar los genes de las personas mediante an\u00e1lisis gen\u00e9ticos detallados que permitan conocer las probabilidades de padecer determinadas enfermedades y as\u00ed ayudarles a prevenirlas para poder garantizar una mayor esperanza de vida.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Adem\u00e1s, el Dr. Vicente Mera se encarg\u00f3 de demostrar en su charla que factores como el estr\u00e9s o la mala alimentaci\u00f3n tambi\u00e9n favorecen el <strong>acortamiento de los tel\u00f3meros<\/strong>, por lo que resulta fundamental llevar un estilo de vida saludable si se quiere hacer frente al envejecimiento prematuro y facilitar la prevenci\u00f3n del c\u00e1ncer, entre otras m\u00faltiples enfermedades. Seg\u00fan el Dr. Mera, los seres humanos estamos capacitados para vivir entre 120 y 130 a\u00f1os de forma plena y activa si no fuese \u2013en la gran mayor\u00eda de los casos- por los malos h\u00e1bitos de vida que llevamos.
