Fue la fuente principal de prote\u00ednas de los <strong>aztecas, mayas e incas<\/strong> y hoy en d\u00eda es uno de los alimentos <strong>m\u00e1s ricos y nutritivos<\/strong> de M\u00e9xico. Es considerado uno de los productos preferidos por los <strong>deportistas, astronautas, vegetarianos y muchas mujeres<\/strong> (en per\u00edodos de menstruaci\u00f3n, embarazo y osteoporosis) debido a que posee el <strong>doble de prote\u00ednas que el arroz.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h4>Propiedades<\/h4>\n<p>El amaranto, <strong>tambi\u00e9n llamado kiwicha<\/strong>, es un grano amarillento m\u00e1s fino que el arroz, con una textura similar al cusc\u00fas. Es considerado un <strong>pseudocereal<\/strong> ya que sus propiedades son muy similares a los de cereales y se cocina igual que cualquier otro, sin embargo se diferencia del resto por su <strong>alto contenido en prote\u00ednas<\/strong> (16%). Adem\u00e1s <strong>no posee gluten<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s tiene las siguientes caracter\u00edsticas principales del amaranto:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Bajo en grasas<\/span> \u2013 Es un producto utilizado en muchas dietas y como ingrediente para elaborar mayonesa y aderezos <em>light<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Contiene amino\u00e1cidos esenciales <\/span>\u2013 Tiene altos niveles de metionina y lisina, un amino\u00e1cido que no se encuentra en ning\u00fan otro cereal y que ayuda a la <a href=\"https:\/\/shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/verduras-que-nutren-tu-cerebro\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">memoria<\/a>, inteligencia y aprendizaje.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Fuente saludable de carbohidratos<\/span> \u2013 Proporciona <a href=\"https:\/\/shawellness.com\/shamagazine\/como-superar-la-falta-de-energia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">energ\u00eda<\/a> sin hacer subir de peso.
