Son se\u00f1ales que llegan de ese \u201csegundo cerebro\u201d del que habla la Dra. Alani.<\/p>\n<p>Se encuentra escondido en las paredes del sistema digestivo y est\u00e1 revolucionando la comprensi\u00f3n de la medicina a la hora de investigar los v\u00ednculos entre la digesti\u00f3n, el estado de \u00e1nimo, la salud e incluso nuestra forma de pensar.<\/p>\n<p>Los cient\u00edficos llaman a este peque\u00f1o cerebro: sistema nervioso ent\u00e9rico, sendas capas delgadas de m\u00e1s de cien millones de c\u00e9lulas nerviosas que recubren nuestro tracto gastrointestinal desde el es\u00f3fago hasta el recto.<\/p>\n<p>Su funci\u00f3n principal es controlar el proceso de la digesti\u00f3n: desde la degluci\u00f3n hasta la descomposici\u00f3n de los alimentos o la absorci\u00f3n de nutrientes hasta su eliminaci\u00f3n. Se podr\u00eda decir que el sistema nervioso ent\u00e9rico se comunica con nuestro cerebro a niveles muy profundos.<\/p>\n<p><strong> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>El sistema nervioso ent\u00e9rico y los cambios emocionales<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>El sistema nervioso ent\u00e9rico puede desencadenar grandes cambios emocionales en personas que experimentan patolog\u00edas digestivas como el s\u00edndrome del intestino irritable o problemas funcionales del intestino, tales como estre\u00f1imiento, diarrea, hinchaz\u00f3n, dolor o malestar estomacal.<\/p>\n<p>Las nuevas investigaciones han demostrado que la irritaci\u00f3n en el sistema gastrointestinal puede enviar se\u00f1ales al sistema nervioso central que provocan cambios de humor e inestabilidad emocional.
