Adem\u00e1s, el tabaquismo provoca una ingente cantidad de <strong>enfermedades cardiacas, vasculares y pulmonares cr\u00f3nicas<\/strong> que, aunque no sean mortales, empeoran mucho la calidad de vida, y es el responsable del 30 % de todas las muertes relacionados con el c\u00e1ncer. Estos datos, por s\u00ed solos, ya deber\u00edan ser una buena raz\u00f3n para dejarlo.<\/p>\n<p>Empezar a fumar o <strong>vapear<\/strong> es muy sencillo, pero abandonar este vicio tan da\u00f1ino para la salud resulta muy complicado, pero no imposible. De hecho, y como nos comenta el doctor Vicente Mera, responsable de Medicina Interna y Antienvejecimiento de SHA, \u201c\u00fanicamente uno de cada 20 de los hu\u00e9spedes que realiza el Programa Antitabaco recae, es decir, solo el 5 %. El \u00e9xito del programa, que dura una semana, reside en un <strong>enfoque integrativo<\/strong> que combina distintas disciplinas, desde los \u00faltimos tratamientos m\u00e9dicos, como la nebulizaci\u00f3n d\u00e9tox pulmonar o <strong>la ozonoterapia intravenosa<\/strong>, una plan de alimentaci\u00f3n saludable personalizado, consultas de psicolog\u00eda para profundizar en el origen del problema y entender por qu\u00e9 se busca un desahogo en el tabaco, hasta la <strong>gesti\u00f3n del estr\u00e9s<\/strong> y las t\u00e9cnicas orientales encaminadas a la conciencia plena, como la respiraci\u00f3n pranayama, la meditaci\u00f3n, el yoga, la acupuntura o la <strong>reflexolog\u00eda podal<\/strong>. Estas \u00faltimas son fundamentales durante todo el proceso, pero, principalmente, en los primeros d\u00edas, ya que <strong>favorecen la relajaci\u00f3n<\/strong>, lo que ayuda a superar la ansiedad provocada por el s\u00edndrome de abstinencia\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>De las miles de sustancias t\u00f3xicas que contienen los cigarrillos, el doctor destaca dos especialmente da\u00f1inas: <strong>la nicotina y el alquitr\u00e1n<\/strong>. \u201cLa nicotina es muy adictiva, es la que provoca el deseo de fumar y tiene unos efectos cardiovasculares muy peligrosos, porque acelera el ritmo cardiaco y se acumula en las arterias del coraz\u00f3n y el cerebro, endureci\u00e9ndolas y causando el <strong>aumento de la<\/strong> <strong>tensi\u00f3n arterial, infartos e ictus<\/strong>. Por su parte, el alquitr\u00e1n es el responsable de todos los fen\u00f3menos pulmonares. Es como una especie de chapopote que se pega a los pulmones, provocando <strong>bronquitis y enfisema,<\/strong> enfermedades que tienen muy mal tratamiento y que empeoran much\u00edsimo la calidad de vida. Adem\u00e1s, todos estos riesgos crecen de manera exponencial cuando se combinan con otros factores, como el colesterol alto, la tensi\u00f3n y el estr\u00e9s. <strong>El tabaco hace un da\u00f1o silencioso<\/strong>, es decir, puedes fumar durante muchos a\u00f1os y encontrarte relativamente bien, pero llega un momento en el que la gota colma el vaso\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>La buena noticia es que dejar el tabaco o el vapeo es posible y, con la ayuda adecuada, el proceso se hace mucho m\u00e1s llevadero. Como nos explica Vicente, \u201c<strong>dejar de fumar es un libro de tres cap\u00edtulos<\/strong>. El primero es el m\u00e1s largo y lo tiene que escribir el propio fumador. Va desde que empieza a pensar que tiene que dejar de fumar hasta el momento que toma <strong>la decisi\u00f3n definitiva<\/strong> y dice \u201cvoy a dejar de fumar\u201d. Escribirlo puede llevar meses, a\u00f1os o incluso d\u00e9cadas. El segundo cap\u00edtulo es muy corto y es \u201cdejar de fumar\u201d. Es el m\u00e1s f\u00e1cil de todos y para escribirlo solo se necesita una semana en SHA, eso s\u00ed, siempre y cuando se haya escrito previamente el primer cap\u00edtulo y se est\u00e9 total y <strong>mentalmente convencido de dejarlo<\/strong>. El tercer cap\u00edtulo es el m\u00e1s importante y consiste en \u201cno volver a fumar\u201d, algo que se consigue con los m\u00e9todos y las t\u00e9cnicas aprendidas durante la estancia\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>A los pocos d\u00edas de apagar el \u00faltimo cigarrillo, se empiezan a <strong>notar los beneficios. <\/strong>Como afirma Vicente, \u201chay pocas satisfacciones mayores que dejar de fumar porque, en cuanto tu vida no est\u00e1 ligada al tabaco, vuelves a ser el <strong>propietario de tu destino<\/strong>. A partir de ese momento, eres t\u00fa quien decide d\u00f3nde quieres ir y no dejas que el tabaco te lleve donde \u00e9l quiera, que suele ser a la enfermedad, al hospital o a vivir pegado a una bombona de ox\u00edgeno.
