Aunque un observador inexperto puede confundirlas, lo cierto es que son dos disciplinas muy diferentes.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Como nos comenta Mar\u00eda Cort\u00e9s, profesora de Yoga y Pilates en SHA, \u201c<\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">el yoga es una filosof\u00eda y un estilo de vida<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> originario de la India que se practica desde hace milenios y que, adem\u00e1s del movimiento f\u00edsico, tiene una parte espiritual y mental muy fuerte, mientras que <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">el pilates es un workout<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> desarrollado por Joseph H. Pilates a principios del siglo XX y que se enfoca en trabajar los m\u00fasculos estabilizadores del abdomen y de la espalda baja. Su madre era profesora de yoga y de ah\u00ed cogi\u00f3 muchos movimientos, pero adaptando tanto las posturas como la respiraci\u00f3n a determinados ejercicios que permitiesen ganar una gran <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">fuerza abdominal<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> de forma r\u00e1pida\u201d.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">Beneficios del pilates<\/span><\/b><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\"> <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Mar\u00eda explica que \u201cel pilates solo se puede plantear desde la perspectiva del cuerpo y la respiraci\u00f3n funcional. Proporciona movilidad, flexibilidad, estabilidad y <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">rango de movimiento<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, aumenta la fuerza abdominal, es bueno para los huesos y mejora la consciencia corporal y la <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">propiocepci\u00f3n<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">, que es la capacidad de sentir la posici\u00f3n del cuerpo y de los m\u00fasculos. Se basa en movimientos repetitivos y, al no incluir los planos mental ni espiritual, tiene muchas menos indicaciones que el yoga, por lo que es m\u00e1s sencillo de entender y aprender. El yoga tiene tambi\u00e9n una parte f\u00edsica, que se usa como complemento de una <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">mente sana en un cuerpo sano<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> o como canalizador para lograr el que, sin duda, es su principal beneficio: la <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">consciencia plena<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\">. Pero el yoga exige m\u00e1s que el pilates porque necesita paciencia, perseverancia y mucha disciplina. En cambio, mientras que el pilates solo se puede hacer sobre una esterilla, el yoga se puede practicar en cualquier lugar, por ejemplo, mientras caminas, a trav\u00e9s de la <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"none\">respiraci\u00f3n<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"none\"> y la consciencia.
