Como nos explica Cinthya Molina, psic\u00f3loga de SHA, \u201cla depresi\u00f3n es un <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">trastorno mental caracterizado por un bajo estado de \u00e1nimo, tristeza cr\u00f3nica y alteraciones tanto en el comportamiento y la actividad como en el pensamiento<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Los s\u00edntomas que presenta son muy variados, pero los m\u00e1s comunes son la <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">anhedonia<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, que es la incapacidad de disfrutar y sentir placer, el <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">agotamiento f\u00edsico,<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> el cansancio y la falta de energ\u00eda, la dificultad de concentraci\u00f3n, las <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">alteraciones del sue\u00f1o<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, los trastornos alimentarios, un constante <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">sentimiento de culpa<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, la irritabilidad, una baja autoestima y, en definitiva, la <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">falta de esperanza en el futuro<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Eso s\u00ed, tener estos sentimientos durante un par de d\u00edas o una semana no significa que est\u00e9s deprimido. El Manual diagn\u00f3stico y estad\u00edstico de los trastornos mentales (DSM, por sus siglas en ingl\u00e9s), editado por la Asociaci\u00f3n Estadounidense de Psiquiatr\u00eda, habla de una <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">evoluci\u00f3n de m\u00ednimo seis meses<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> con un cuadro de este tipo para poder hablar de depresi\u00f3n\u201d.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Sin embargo, a la consulta de Cinthya llegan cada vez m\u00e1s personas que, tras unos pocos d\u00edas con un bajo estado de \u00e1nimo, confiesan estar deprimidas. \u201cNos hemos vuelto una <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">sociedad muy intransigente al sufrimiento y con una muy baja tolerancia a la frustraci\u00f3n que tiende a patologizar todo lo que nos pasa<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. En cuanto estamos mal dos d\u00edas, ya creemos que estamos deprimidos, que hay que ir al m\u00e9dico y tomar una pastilla. Se nos est\u00e1 inculcando que tenemos que ser felices y estar bien 24 horas al d\u00eda y que no es correcto estar mal o sufrir. Pero hay que entender que <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">en la vida hay cosas buenas y malas<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> y pasar por momentos malos no significa que tengamos un trastorno\u201d, a\u00f1ade la experta.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Las <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">redes sociales<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> juegan un papel fundamental en la creaci\u00f3n de este escenario en el que da la sensaci\u00f3n de que tenemos que <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">ser felices todo el tiempo<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Como cuenta Cinthya, \u201cel objetivo de algunas redes sociales, como Instagram, es que todo el mundo vea y comparta lo bonita que es mi vida, lo maravilloso y fant\u00e1stico que soy y los viajes tan incre\u00edbles que hago. Es decir, <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">solo muestran la faceta que queremos que los dem\u00e1s conozcan<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> y la imagen que queremos crear de nosotros mismos. Pero la realidad es que, cuando de verdad est\u00e1s disfrutando, no piensas en subir nada a las redes sociales y solo lo haces cuando necesitas un refuerzo positivo\u201d. Por eso, aunque <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Espa\u00f1a<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> es un pa\u00eds supuestamente alegre y feliz y con muchas horas de sol, ocupa el <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">primer puesto europeo en consumo de psicof\u00e1rmacos<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, duplicando la tasa del segundo.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">La buena noticia es que <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">las herramientas<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> para salir de ese pozo de pesimismo y amargura que es la depresi\u00f3n <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">est\u00e1n a nuestro alcance<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. \u201cLa mayor\u00eda de las personas cree que la realidad tiene un significado y que est\u00e1 cargada de emoci\u00f3n, pero lo cierto es que <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">la<\/span><\/b> <b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">realidad es neutra<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. De hecho, nosotros somos cocreadores de la realidad, es decir, que seg\u00fan qu\u00e9 gafas utilicemos la veremos de una forma u otra. La depresi\u00f3n no sino tiene tanto que ver con lo que sucede en el exterior, en <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">c\u00f3mo interpretas y gestionas<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\"> lo que pasa fuera. Y esto quiere decir que la soluci\u00f3n al problema est\u00e1 en tus manos porque <\/span><b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">lo que depende de uno mismo se puede cambiar<\/span><\/b><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. La \u00fanica relaci\u00f3n verdadera, aut\u00e9ntica y profunda que vas a mantener a lo largo de tu vida es la que cultivas contigo mismo. El resto son juegos de espejos donde t\u00fa te reflejas y pantallas donde t\u00fa te proyectas.
