Aunque por su estructura es el m\u00e1s simple de nuestros amino\u00e1cidos, es un aut\u00e9ntico ant\u00eddoto contra el envejecimiento.<\/p>\n<p>Su funci\u00f3n es esencial para mantener la buena salud de la retina. Igualmente, es necesaria para la s\u00edntesis de numerosos compuestos org\u00e1nicos como los fosfol\u00edpidos, la elastina, la creatinina, las purinas y la glutati\u00f3n. \u00a0Es indispensable para la regeneraci\u00f3n de los tejidos y, concretamente, para la\u00a0formaci\u00f3n del col\u00e1geno\u00a0que flexibiliza los cart\u00edlagos de las articulaciones.<\/p>\n<p>La\u00a0glicina contiene nitr\u00f3geno. No posee carga el\u00e9ctrica y su nombre se deriva de su sabor dulce. La glicina tambi\u00e9n incrementa la sensibilidad a la insulina y refuerza la memoria.<\/p>\n<p>La\u00a0fatiga, los problemas para conciliar el sue\u00f1o\u00a0o el\u00a0dolor muscular y articular\u00a0pueden estar indicando un d\u00e9ficit de glicina. A largo plazo, el\u00a0d\u00e9ficit de glicina\u00a0se relaciona con la artrosis, la obesidad y la diabetes. Tambi\u00e9n su escasez se asocia a las malas digestiones por falta de \u00e1cidos biliares, y tambi\u00e9n con\u00a0el envejecimiento prematuro.<\/p>\n<p>La glicina\u00a0ayuda a conciliar el sue\u00f1o, contribuye a que sea\u00a0m\u00e1s profundo y reparador e incrementa la sensaci\u00f3n de descanso. Esto sucede gracias a su acci\u00f3n como neurotransmisor inhibitorio que reduce la excitaci\u00f3n de las neuronas y produce un efecto anest\u00e9sico y somn\u00edfero.<\/p>\n<p>Gracias a su alta presencia en el col\u00e1geno \u2013un tercio de glicina est\u00e1 presente en articulaciones, huesos, tendones, capilares sangu\u00edneos, cabello y piel\u2013, es \u00fatil para prevenir y aliviar la osteoporosisy la artrosis. Muchas enfermedades del sistema motor y de las articulaciones mejoran con el uso de suplementos de glicina, pues tiene una acci\u00f3n regeneradora del cart\u00edlago y los tejidos. Los deportistas la consumen en suplementos porque supone un chute de energ\u00eda, fortalece y construye la masa muscular y previene lesiones.<\/p>\n<p>Con una dieta equilibrada se aportar\u00edan unos\u00a03 gramos de glicina diarios; sin embargo, la evidencia cient\u00edfica constata que la dosis diaria id\u00f3nea ser\u00eda de entre 10 y 12 gramos diarios. Los que llevan una\u00a0dieta vegana y las personas de edad madura pueden requerir de una suplementaci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>La glicina puede encontrarse en la gelatina de origen animal y en las prote\u00ednas de alta calidad, entre ella las semillas de c\u00e1\u00f1amo, los guisantes y la soja. Las legumbres, las setas, los frutos secos, las semillas oleaginosas y los cereales integrales como el trigo sarraceno tambi\u00e9n aportan glicina.<\/p>\n<p>En el caso de adquirir la glicina a trav\u00e9s de suplementos, no se recomienda sobrepasar los 10 gramos diarios. Para las personas que sufren artrosis y osteoporosis, se recomiendan\u00a05 gramos por la ma\u00f1ana y otros 5 por la noche. En caso de insomnio la glicina se toma antes de acostarse, en dosis de\u00a0entre 3 y 5 gramos.
