Transformative Breathing
Innovative method that combines the proven benefits of ice bathing with the therapeutic power of breathing through a multidisciplinary technique that results in a transformative experience, both physically and mentally.
The ice bath allows for increased levels of resilience, energy and vitality resulting from the release of dopamine and adrenaline, while the breathing techniques help to control the peripheral nervous system and properly manage stress levels and anxiety.
It is an immersive experience in which the patient is exposed to certain external stimuli in order to learn strategies that allow to optimally manage emotions and/or day-to-day difficulties.
This methodology, known to be used by many elite athletes, consists of three phases or experiences: Breathing for Wellness, Emotional Detox Breathwork Therapy and the Ice Bath.
Psychology Session : Breathing for Wellness
A session with our specialist in psychology who, first of all, evaluates the patient to determine motivations or blockages at a psychological level, and measure the respiratory performance. Subsequently, the specialist explains how breathing is carried out at a physiological level, the importance of breathing correctly, its benefits from a neuro-physiological point of view, as well as the normal and proper way of breathing.
Although breathing is an act that we perform by inertia and unconsciously, we do not always do it in the most ideal way. The objective of this session is to teach you to be more aware and to value the importance of knowing how to breathe properly.
Depending on the patient’s previous level of knowledge and, after the specialist’s assessment, a series of data and practical advice will be provided to apply in daily life, with the aim of improving diaphragmatic breathing in a conscious way and controlling certain external stimuli, as is the case of high levels of stress.
Breathing techniques : Breathing for Wellness
Although breathing is an act that we perform by inertia and unconsciously, we do not always do it in the most ideal way. The objective of this session is to teach you to be more aware and to value the importance of knowing how to breathe properly.
Depending on the patient’s previous level of knowledge, specific breathing control techniques are practiced, both to activate and deactivate the nervous system, with the objective of improving the technique and learning to breathe correctly, which will positively influence the patient’s physiological and psycho-emotional state.
Breathing techniques : Emotional Detox Breathwork Therapy
A session of accelerated breathing exercises to activate the sympathetic nervous system. Its objective is to teach how to control the activation or deactivation of the peripheral nervous system, in preparation for experiencing similar sensations prior to immersion in the ice bath.
Psychology Session : Emotional Detox Breathwork Therapy
In this final session, our psychologist evaluates all the learning acquired by the patient in the previous phases of Transformative Breathing, so that they can apply these breathing techniques in their daily life. We evaluate the level of resilience, as well as the sensations obtained and, in addition, we determine in a personalised way which tools work best for the patient so that they can put them into practice as part of their new healthy lifestyle habits
Ice Bath
It consists of immersion in an ice bath at a temperature of 3º C, and the objective is to remain in it for at least 2 minutes, in order to obtain all its benefits: strengthen the immune system, increase resistance to stress, reduce muscular inflammation, reduce cortisol levels, among others. In addition, in this final stage, the ice bath acts as a mirror of all those situations that paralyse or produce blockages.
